Alder is committed to minimizing its footprint in and around Rosita and has embarked on an extensive reforestation program. The company intends to participate in three annual reforestation campaigns in the town of Rosita. These are coordinated with the Environmental Management Authority of City Hall and the Ministry of Education (MINED). The first campaign took place 22 June, 2012 when 50 students participated from the Federacion de Estudiantes de Secundaria and 1,900 trees were planted.
As part of an environmental campaign to celebrate World Environment Day, Alder participated in a cleanup of the city of Rosita. Rakes, shovels and brooms were distributed and truckloads of garbage were sent to the city dump.
Part of an ongoing campaign to keep Rosita clean, Alder donated steel garbage cans which were situated in public places such as schools, the hospital, town hall, Main street and the market.
Alder has expended significant monies, time and work repairing roads that may have been damaged by the Company’s heavy machinery.
